1. Introduction and Acceptance
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of the website located at https://jeviexports.com and all business transactions conducted with Jevi Exports (“Company”, “we”, “us”, “our”), a merchant exporter registered under MSME, DGFT, GST and CAPEXIL operating from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
By accessing our website, submitting an enquiry, placing an order, or entering into any commercial agreement with us, you (“Buyer”, “Client”, “User”) agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or engage in any transaction with us.

3. Products and Services
3.1 Product Range
Jevi Exports supplies the following safety match products for export:
- Cardboard Safety Matches (available in 30s, 40s, 50s)
- Wax Safety Matches (paraffin wax-coated, moisture-resistant)
- Wooden / Veneer Safety Matches (moisture-resistant, heavy-rainfall markets)
- Kitchen / Household Safety Matches (extra-long splints, retail-ready)
3.2 Custom and Private Label
We offer private label and custom packaging services subject to minimum order quantities. Custom label requirements, artwork specifications, and approval timelines will be agreed upon separately in writing prior to production.
3.3 Product Specifications
All product specifications including matchstick count, box dimensions, carton configuration, labelling, and chemical composition are subject to confirmation in the official Pro Forma Invoice or Sales Contract. Specifications may vary based on destination market requirements and applicable regulations.
4. Enquiries and Quotations
Submitting an enquiry or requesting a quotation through our website, email, or WhatsApp does not constitute a binding order or contract. All quotations issued by Jevi Exports are valid for a period of 7 calendar days from the date of issue unless otherwise specified. Prices in quotations are indicative and subject to change based on raw material costs, freight rates, currency fluctuations, and trade conditions.
5. Orders and Order Confirmation
5.1 Placing an Order
An order is considered confirmed only upon the following:
- Issuance and acceptance of a Pro Forma Invoice (PI) signed by both parties
- Receipt of the agreed advance payment or confirmed Letter of Credit (LC)
- Written acknowledgement from Jevi Exports confirming production scheduling
5.2 Order Modifications and Cancellations
Any modification or cancellation of a confirmed order must be communicated in writing. Cancellations after production commencement may attract cancellation charges covering costs incurred including materials, labour, and packaging. The specific charges will be communicated on a case-by-case basis.
6. Pricing and Payment Terms
6.1 Pricing
All prices are quoted in USD (US Dollars) unless otherwise agreed. Prices are quoted on the basis of agreed Incoterms (typically FOB or CIF destination port / Others). Any applicable government taxes, duties, export levies, or port charges not included in the quoted price remain the buyer’s responsibility unless explicitly stated.
6.2 Payment Terms
Standard payment terms are:
- 30% advance payment upon PI confirmation
- 70% balance payment against copy of Bill of Lading (BL) before release of original shipping documents
- Alternative terms including 100% advance payment, Irrevocable LC at sight, or DP/DA terms may be negotiated based on transaction history and buyer’s profile
6.3 Currency and Bank Charges
All international bank charges, SWIFT fees, and foreign exchange conversion costs are to be borne by the Buyer. Jevi Exports must receive the full invoiced amount net of all banking deductions.
7. Export Documentation
Jevi Exports will provide the following standard export documents upon shipment:
- Commercial Invoice
- Packing List
- Bill of Lading / Airway Bill
- Certificate of Origin (Chamber of Commerce / DGFT as applicable)
- Phytosanitary Certificate (where required)
- Quality / Inspection Certificate (third-party, on request)
- Fumigation Certificate (where required by destination country)
Any additional documentation required by the destination country’s import authorities must be communicated by the Buyer at the time of order placement. Additional charges may apply for special certifications.
8. Shipping and Delivery
8.1 Lead Time
Standard production and shipment lead time is 21 to 35 working days from the date of order confirmation and advance payment receipt, subject to vessel availability. Lead times for custom or large-volume orders will be communicated separately.
8.2 Shipment Terms
Unless otherwise agreed, goods are shipped on FOB terms. Title and risk in the goods pass to the Buyer upon loading at the port of origin. Jevi Exports will assist in coordinating freight and marine insurance at the Buyer’s request and cost under CIF terms.
8.3 Delays
Jevi Exports shall not be held liable for shipping delays arising from port congestion, vessel schedule changes, force majeure events, labour disputes, government interventions, or any other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. We will promptly communicate any anticipated delays to the Buyer.
9. Quality and Inspection
All safety matches exported by Jevi Exports undergo rigorous quality checks including:
- Raw material inspection (splints, chemicals, packaging materials)
- In-process quality monitoring during dipping, filling, and packaging
- Pre-shipment inspection of finished goods
Third-party pre-shipment inspection (SGS, Intertek, or equivalent) can be arranged at the Buyer’s cost. Any quality disputes must be raised in writing within 14 days of receipt of goods, accompanied by supporting photographic evidence and an independent inspection report. Claims raised after this period will not be entertained
10. Claims, Returns, and Liability
10.1 Liability Limitation
Jevi Exports’ total liability to the Buyer for any claim arising from a transaction shall not exceed the invoice value of the specific shipment in dispute. We shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, incidental, or special damages including loss of profits or loss of market opportunity.
10.2 Hazardous Goods Compliance
Safety matches are classified as hazardous goods (UN 1944) under international shipping regulations. Jevi Exports ensures all shipments are packed, labelled, and documented in compliance with IMDG Code, ADR, and applicable carrier requirements. The Buyer is responsible for compliance with import regulations, hazardous goods handling, and storage requirements in the destination country.
10.3 Proper Use and Storage
The Buyer acknowledges that safety matches are flammable products. Jevi Exports shall not be held liable for any loss, injury, damage, or legal liability arising from improper handling, storage, transportation, or use of the products after delivery to the Buyer or their nominated freight agent.
11. Intellectual Property
All content on the Jevi Exports website including text, images, product photographs, company logo, branding, and marketing materials is the intellectual property of Jevi Exports or its licensors. Reproduction, distribution, or commercial use of any content without prior written consent is strictly prohibited.
Custom label designs and artwork created by Jevi Exports for private label orders remain the property of the respective client upon full payment of the relevant order.
12. Confidentiality
Both parties agree to maintain confidentiality regarding pricing, commercial terms, supplier relationships, and proprietary business information shared during the course of the business relationship. This obligation shall survive the termination of any commercial agreement.
13. Force Majeure
Jevi Exports shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance of its obligations due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, fire, flood, epidemic or pandemic, war, civil unrest, government restrictions, port closures, export bans, raw material shortages, power outages, or failure of third-party logistics providers. In such events, Jevi Exports will notify the Buyer promptly and both parties will endeavour to agree on revised timelines or mutually acceptable alternative arrangements.
14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms and all transactions conducted with Jevi Exports shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India.
In the event of any dispute, the parties shall first attempt to resolve the matter amicably through good-faith negotiations within 30 days of written notice of the dispute. If the dispute cannot be resolved amicably, it shall be referred to arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 of India. The seat of arbitration shall be Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The language of arbitration shall be English.
The courts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any matter not resolved through arbitration.

While we strive to keep all content accurate and up-to-date, Jevi Exports makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the completeness, accuracy, or fitness for purpose of any information on the website.

16. Modifications to Terms
Jevi Exports reserves the right to revise these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be published on our website with a revised effective date. Continued engagement with Jevi Exports after such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage clients and users to review these Terms periodically.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be severed and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with any Pro Forma Invoice, Sales Contract, and any other written agreement signed between the parties, constitute the entire agreement between Jevi Exports and the Buyer with respect to the subject matter hereof and supersede all prior representations, understandings, and agreements.
